Position: Heart Surgery Operation Theater Technician
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Heart Surgery Operation Theater Technician to join our team at Madhavan Heart Center. The Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our cardiac surgery operation theater. The ideal candidate should possess technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operation theater for cardiac surgery procedures, ensuring all equipment, instruments, and supplies are properly sterilized and organized.
- Assist the surgical team in setting up and troubleshooting complex surgical equipment, such as heart-lung machines, ECMO systems, and intraoperative imaging devices.
- Monitor and maintain sterile conditions in the operation theater throughout surgical procedures.
- Collaborate closely with the surgical team to provide timely assistance during surgery, including passing instruments, sutures, and other needed supplies.
- Operate and manage various equipment during surgery, such as heart-lung machines, anesthesia machines, and cardiac monitors.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and ensure a seamless flow of activities during procedures.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with patient positioning, draping, and transferring to and from the operating table.
- Participate in the training and orientation of new operation theater staff.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Diploma or certification in Operation Theater Technology or a related field.
- Previous experience as a Heart Surgery Operation Theater Technician is preferred.
- Strong understanding of cardiac surgical procedures and equipment.
- Familiarity with heart-lung machines, ECMO systems, and other related equipment.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
